2010 Youth Mission Trips

2010 Youth Mission Trips

During the summer of 2010, we will be sponsoring two youth mission trips.  These trips are open to any rising 9th grader through college student.  Some details are:

·          Domestic mission trip to Nashville.  The trip dates are July 18 through 24, 2010.  Mary Petersen will lead this trip.     Cost $500.

·          International mission trip to Jamaica.  The trip dates are June 26 through July 2, 2010.  Richard Leach will lead this trip.          Cost $1,200.

We realize mission trips are expensive.  A possible way for youth to raise some of the cost is to ask for mission trip money as a Christmas gift. However, we never want cost to stand in the way of someone attending a mission trip.  Need based partial or full scholarships will be available.  Please see Mary Petersen or Richard Leach for details on scholarships. Mission trips are spiritually rewarding and can be life changing.  We hope as many of our youth can attend as possible.

WATCH (aka Wednesday evenings At Church) is our name for the Saint Matthews' mid-week program on Wednesday evenings.  The evening starts each Wednesday with a simple dinner at 7:00 p.m. in the parish hall. Food is provided, but contributions are welcome. Programs last from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and offer something for all ages.

Youth Group. Saint Matthews has a dynamic youth ministry with regular small groups and lots of fun activities each month for both younger and older teens. For more information and a schedule of youth ministry activities, contact Charlie Biegel, Vicki Nelson, or any member of our Youth Leadership Team.

Confirmation Contact Father Rob if you are interested in being confirmed.
