High School Camping & Rafting

To put it simply, this is going to be awesome. You don't want to miss this one! We're leaving Sunday afternoon, July 13th at 3 PM from the church and will be returning early Tuesday, July 15th afternoon, camping Sunday and Monday night at Ohiopyle State Park in Pennsylvania.

Events will include whitewater rafting, swimming, going to an authentic drive-in movie theater, and of course exploring nature! This is a great trip to bring friends along, too! College kids as well as parent volunteers/chaperons are also welcome. Register by July 6th and money, $75 for everything, is due by Thursday the 10th.

Fellowship Breakfast

June 28th, 8 a.m., Join us every other Saturday at 8am for breakfast and fellowship. We hope to see you on Saturday, June 28th in the parish hall. Everyone is welcome!

Vacation Bible School

July 28-Aug. 1, 2008

Saint Matthew’s Episcopal Church will be holding Vacation Bible School this summer from July 28th to August 1st. Children who are four years old (or three if they are accompanied by an older volunteer) and rising K-5th graders are invited to join in the excitement of “Power Lab” from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for dinner and fun. Each day children will take part in fun Bible learning they can see, hear, touch, and even taste through fiery explosions, beautiful reactions, Wacky Works Crafts, Hyperspeed Games, Test Tube Treats, Faith Fusion, Bible Blasts, and a live band with Sonic Songs.

The deadline for registration is July 6, 2008; it costs $25 for one child, $35 for two siblings, and no more than $40 per family.  You can print and fill out a child or volunteer registration form. Please contact Jodie Leach at 703-421-6310.

The Vision of Saint Matthew's
To live life at its fullest in Christ.

The Mission of Saint Matthew's
To know and share God's love through the following actions:

  • do all in our power, and then some, to foster, nourish, and sustain authentic, living relationships with God in Christ
  • to build a community devoted to becoming one human family in pursuit of God's dream for us
  • to promote personal growth so that, with God's leading, help, and grace, we will more fully realize our God given potential and purpose
  • to embrace the highest standards, as individuals, families, and a church, of love, dedication, honesty, integrity, and service
